My Thoughts on the “And The Winner Is…”

rcnano13:

I honestly don’t know what to say. I have so many emotions right now that I have to keep it inside before my dad (who watched it with me) thinks I’m even more crazy. It’s taking all of my willpower to think critically so here goes:

Here is my breakdown of my thoughts:

1. Lin is a badass motherfucker

2. Korra is a badass motherfucker

3. Amon is a scary motherfucker who makes Ozai look like a fluffy bunny

4. The Wolf Bats were just assholes who, I have to admit, had an amazing entrance

5. Lin…went…out…with…Tenzin…*breaths heavily*

6. Tarrlok is still a douche as well as the other pushover Councilmens

7. Aang in the Avatar State…a badass motherfucker

8. Shinobi was a brave man to continue reporting and admit to wetting his pants

9. Pabu is a smart motherfucker

10. The episode overall was fucking amazing

Excuse the f-bombs.

Now, I’m going to go to a corner and cry while I wait another week for episode 7.

So…. did anyone notice that Tenzin did absolutely nothing in terms of bending?

nerdydyke:

It was all Lin and Korra being bad asses. Tenzin could have used air to fly up there or at least catch Korra when she fell.

Maybe Tenzin was busy evacuating the spectators?

The more I think about it

saintbennithy:

screams-flails-dies-etc:

the more I think Mako wouldn’t be the one to bring Korra out of the Avatar state

Idk even before all of the ep. 4 drama

the thought of it feels weird….

I see fan art of it and it’s pretty

but… now that we know more of his personality

I really don’t think he’d be that comforting and sensitive

especially towards Korra

if anyone I think it’d be Tenzin

because father/son (shhhh technically) moment sob

or if it’s gonna be one of the brothers

Bolin, because he understands the same fear that would probably trigger her to go into the avatar state and more muscles to keep her grounded with big bear hugs

lol

Owl screwed Korra over big time

republiccitysanctuary:

Analyzing the beginning scene from Episode 3, I now see the full extent of the damage that Owl has caused for Korra. I truly felt bad for her during this scene and all I have to say to this is “WTF Owl?!”

When Korra told the brothers “I got nothing.” I honestly think she was only referring to the fact that she doesn’t have any money. As she mentions herself, its because she has never needed money. I believe it is also because the Southern Water Tribe functions on a bartering system instead of money, but that is beside the point. Korra doesn’t understand the true meaning of what she said, and to her credit, instantly realizes this and attempts to correct herself when Mako tells her that since she has always had people taking care of her, that she didn’t have “nothing”. Korra was so sheltered that she had no context for way her life was and still is. She doesn’t understand that not everyone has people to love and care about them. That there are people who don’t have access to all of life’s necessities and that not having enough money does matter. She has no idea how bending can be used to oppress people or even that people can be oppressed at all. This girl, at the age of seventeen, who’s job is to serve the world, has no clue as to how said world really works.

But I don’t blame her for this. None of it is her fault. Korra didn’t ask to be the avatar. She didn’t ask to be waited on hand and foot. She didn’t want to be locked up in a compound in the most isolated part of the world all her life. She didn’t ask for everyone around her to protect her from every little thing. She didn’t ask to have her only worry in life to be to master all four elements. Owl forced all of this on her at the age of four. They separated Korra from her parents and locked her away from the world because that is what they thought Aang wanted them to do.

*slow clap* Congratulations, Owl, we now have an avatar who knows jack shit about the world that you expect her to serve. Idiots.

They didn’t even get the surrogate parent thing right. Has anyone noticed how rude Korra actually is to her elders? She abruptly leave the area if she doesn’t like what is being said to her. She vents her anger and frustration through insults, mockery, and unapologetic disobedience. The girl never stops to think before opening her mouth or acting. She literally does whatever the fuck she wants.

But again, none of this is her fault. If you notice, hardly anyone corrects Korra on her behavior. No one attempted to correct her when she interrupts the conversation by  saying “whatever” and abruptly left the area after being told she would have to wait to start her airbending training. The Owl guy and Tenzin both just watch as she leaves. They just…didn’t even try. Then, after Tenzin graciously lets her stay in his house, she bitches at him when she is having trouble with airbending. Instead of asking for help or some feed back on what she is doing wrong, she calls him a bad teacher in front of his children, shows no regard for airbender culture in general, and even goes so far as to say that she doesn’t even need to learn airbending. Yet not once does Tenzin put his foot down and demand any respect from her. Not once did I see him hold her accountable for her actions. Only Chief Bei Fong and the anti-bending protestor guy call her on any of her words or actions. But all that started young. I bet Owl let moments like that just slide as long as Korra continued to progress in her bending.

So, yeah, I’m furious with Owl right now. Their negligence was a major disservice to Korra, and now she is suffering for it. Fortunately, she now has Mako, Bolin, Tenzin, and Lin to help set her on the right path.

superhoneybear-art:

So…. I was wondering if this had happened yet and then…. it did.

Actually though, this is becoming an addiction. J.K. Simmons just looks so much like Tenzin…..!
